Fred Albert, 79, passed away February 16, 2016.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962.  He worked mostly in restaurants, and was an amazing chef.  He retired from Summer Trace.  Fred was a lifelong member of St. George Orthodox Christian Church, where he had served as an altar boy, was the former Sunday School Superintendent.  He loved spending time with his family. Fred loved his family: he loved his children and proudly walked his two daughters down the aisle. He did all this with brightest smile and happiest heart, all because they were his family. None us could have asked for better. His smile will always live in our hearts.

Fred is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathleen; children, Mary Rose (Daryl) Fox, Michael and his children, Zachery and Jordan, Michelle (Gabe) Edwards and her child, Kaya; great-grand-child, James Albert; sister, Thelma Hoover; niece, Margaret Jean (William) Harper; and two great-nephews, Chad and Brad Harper.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN  46250, with a Trisagion service at 7:30 p.m.  A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2016, at St. George Orthodox Christian Church, 10748 E. 116th St., Fishers, IN  46037.  Burial with military rites will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.  Please join the family back at the church following the burial for a mercy meal.

Your family has my deepest sympathy. I’m so very sorry for your loss. Well, I was thinking of something to say to ease the tremendous pain that your family is suffering. So I compiled this list of Scriptures that is sure to bring you comfort in this difficult time: Psalms 55:22; Proverbs 3:5, 6; Isaiah 41:10; 2 Corinthians 1: 3-7; James 4:8; and Revelation 21:4. Be strong. Cherish the memories. May the peace of God be with your family always. And please remember to call upon His name found at Psalms 83:18.
